A dedication ceremony for the new Wildcat Park will take place at 6:45 p.m. today at the Mayfield High School Wildcat Stadium.
The ceremony will be followed by the 7 p.m. varsity football game against the Olmsted Falls Bulldogs. The game will be the first for the new field turf. The $600,000 in improvements also included new bleachers, a press box, ticket booth and restrooms.
Money for the project was raised by the nonprofit Wildcat Foundation, which has set a goal of raising $3 million for a new parking lot, soccer fields, a plaza area and other improvements.
Opening day festivities also feature a 6:30 p.m. performance by the Mayfield High Marching Band, junior varsity and varsity soccer games and a varsity volleyball contest.
